Scotland Day Three: St Andrews New Course

July 19, 2006
St Andrews New Course
We played the St Andrews New Course on Wednesday July 19. It was definitely better than the Jubilee, but wasn't anything special. Not nearly as good as Carnoustie.
Our forecaddie Alex looped for us for the first time. Dude was like a jackrabbit jumping into the gorse bushes! He clearly had teflon legs, as the rest of us didn't particularly like the way the gorse thorns cut through your pants. I have a newfound respect for gorse.
Quote of the day, from Alex: "The second golfer is always the more experienced." (After watching one of us hit the first ball into the gorse and then bust the second one).
Scores on the New Course: (gross; net)
Ron: 89
Dave: 82
Greg: 90
Rob: 95
