Scotland Day 7: Prestwick

We take on Prestwick on a windy day.

Janging around on the back nine.

Rob hits a miracle shot from a difficult lie.

July 23, 2006

The second day of the East Coast Swing was at Prestwick, on the west coast of Scotland. It was a fairly expensive round (L125) at the course where The Open was started. But we had a great time. This wasn't one we'd play again but it was fun to see it once.

Dave moved ahead by posting a stellar 78 in the 20 mph wind. Greg had two back to back birdies and then proceeded to take a one legged snowman (9 for you non-golfers) on the back nine. Rob was Mr Sandman once again, with several Scottish wedges from 70 yards out and a one put. Ron almost hit Rob in the groin area on a 40 yard pitch and run!

Scores:
Ron: 90/77
Dave: 78/73
Greg: 94/78
Rob: 97/80

Quotes of the day:
"In the morning, #5 played 145. In the afternoon, it played 210 into the wind."

"You've got all of Scotland on your left. (Rob shot goes farther left). That's not in Scotland."

"That's the scariest putt you haven't hit."
